The Franklin Youth Lacrosse boys program is a member of Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse (MYL). This league offers two boys programs in the Spring season, Classic and Select.  The Spring season generally starts in late March (Kindergarten will start in April) with games beginning the first week of April.  There are typically two practices a week for all age groups.

Classic

The Classic program is the traditional town program where any boy of any skill level can register to play at their age group. Through MYL we offer programs at the following age groups:

• Under 9 (U9) - 1st and 2nd grade
• U11 - 3rd and 4th grade
• U13 - 5th and 6th grade
• U15 - 7th and 8th grade

Registration for Classic teams is generally in the fall.

Select

The Select program is an extension of the Classic program and is an opportunity for more experienced players at the U13 and U15 age groups to play together and compete against other towns.  We hold tryouts for these two age groups typically in February each year.  Anyone that plays for their Select team MUST also play for their Classic team.  There is a separate registration that needs to be completed to tryout for a Select team.

Kindergarten

We offer an in-house program (i.e., will not play other towns) for boys in Kindergarten. There will be one to two practices a week and games will be on Sunday at a field in Franklin.  We will provide any Kindergartners with the equipment they need, which includes gloves, arm pads, chest protector, helmet and a stick.
